Brenda Borden is a native Atlantan that has been living in Kennesaw for more than sixteen years. She attended Atlanta City schools and graduated from Clayton State and Georgia State Universities with honors. Besides being a mortgage broker, Brenda has her real estate sales license, dental hygienist license, has been a licensed appraiser and has worked in the pre-closing department for a real estate closing attorney.
Brenda has owned and operated Real Estate Custom Finance since 1996 and changed the company name to do business as Checkpoint Mortgage in 2002 when her husband, Bill, completed the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, which is 1,151 miles long, with 26 checkpoints, through some of Alaska’s most beautiful and challenging terrain. Brenda's hobbies are traveling, art, photography, her pets, and reading. One of Brenda's current projects is to attempt to institute a Dog Mushing Merit Badge for the Boy Scouts on a national level and to get her new company, Due South Photography, off and running. She is an active member of the Vinings Rotary Club and along with Bill will be the host family for the 2010 GRSP student. Brenda is also a member of Kennesaw, Acworth, Marietta, Smyrna, Vinings and Canton Road Business Associations.
Brenda and Bill have a son, Jordan, attends Georgia Tech as an Industrial Engineering major and a daughter, Satina, who lives in Oregon with her husband, Nathan, and four children, Nick, Ben, Tatiana and Andrew. The Bordens also have two cats and three retired sled dogs as a part of their family!
